Be Prepared for Adventure ...
As Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with #SkillsForLife
We encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more.
More than 1000 young people living in the Scottish Borders enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed, now and in the future. We’re talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience – skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians.
We believe in bringing people together. We celebrate diversity and stand against intolerance, always.
We’re a worldwide movement, creating stronger communities and inspiring positive futures.
"Volunteering helps take your mind off your own worries and gives you a renewed sense of purpose and perspective. And there's overwhelming evidence that volunteering helps battle stress and anxiety, which so many of us can be prone to. On top of that we learn new skills and interests that we can take into the workplace."
Bear Grylls - UK Chief Scout
We are part of the largest mixed volunteer-led Movement for young people in Scotland. We offer fun, challenge and life changing adventure to almost more than 1000 young people in the Scottish Borders, who are supported by over 400 adult volunteers.
Scouting exists to make young people’s lives better, helping them to realise their full potential, and providing them with the skills they need to succeed in life.
"When I joined Beavers I was really shy. Since then I've become an Explorer Scout Young Leader who helps run the a Beaver Colony. I can't believe the opportunities Scouting has given me and the skills and confidence I've gained."
